AC Service & Repair in Omaha | Gateway Auto

No A/C in the hot, humid Nebraska summer is no fun for anyone. Don't go another day dripping sweat in rush hour traffic, let the experts at Gateway Auto Service Center get you back to cool and comfortable.

Summer in Omaha hits different when your AC works. We've seen too many drivers suffer through 95-degree commutes because they put off AC service. At Gateway Auto, we fix everything from simple refrigerant recharges to complete compressor replacements.

What We Fix

Refrigerant Recharge

Low refrigerant is the most common AC problem. Your system uses refrigerant to absorb heat from inside your car and release it outside. When levels drop (usually from a slow leak), you get warm air instead of cold. We'll recharge your system and check for leaks to prevent the same issue next month.

Compressor Replacement

The compressor is the heart of your AC system - it pressurizes refrigerant and pumps it through the system. When it fails, you'll hear clicking, grinding, or your AC just stops working entirely. Compressor replacement is one of the bigger AC jobs, but we'll tell you honestly whether repair or replacement makes sense for your vehicle.

Evaporator and Condenser Service

Your evaporator (inside the dash) absorbs heat, while the condenser (in front of your radiator) releases it. Leaks, clogs, or damage to either component kills your cooling. We'll diagnose which one is causing problems and fix it right.

Blower Motor and Fan Issues

No airflow usually means a bad blower motor or cabin air filter. We'll check both and get air moving again.

Warning Signs

You need AC service when:

  • Warm air blows from vents
  • Reduced airflow even on high
  • Strange smells (musty odor often means mold in the evaporator)
  • Unusual noises when AC is running
  • AC works intermittently

Maintenance Schedule

Have your AC system inspected before summer hits - ideally in spring. Most vehicles benefit from a full AC service every 2-3 years, which includes refrigerant level check, leak detection, and component inspection.

Cost Range: $150+ for recharge (depending upon freon), $400-$1,200 for compressor replacement depending on vehicle
